When I signed my first record contract in 1994, the labels were very
important for a band to get successful, especially when the band was at its
debut. This meant hardly negotiable contract terms and long time engagement
when succesful. Ten years ago there were no opportunities of getting if not
through this channel.

 

In the Internet ERA, most of the existing labels have lost lots of their
power because of the file-sharing; they do not invest in newborn bands
anymore butthey prefer to drive their energies on productions of artists who
are already asserted in the music-world. On the other side, the market is
filled up with of low-value independent productions, which are realized
without the know-how and professional facilities. This makes the debut LP
nothing else than a good demotape.

 

Incipit is a label of new conception. It is based on an innovative attitude
founded on a new relationship between artist and production. There is no
hierarchy anymore. Everyone is equally involved in the plan, realized with
the highest careand attention from a professional staff . Incipit wants to
be the beginning of an history. An history made of determination,
seriousness, with the only aim to write new chapters.

IN THE TOTAL FREEDOM MUSIC DESERVES IN 2007.

The creative freedom, through a close production with the artist, and a
contractual one, where partnership is made of short time engagements. Its
timeto use the digital age in order to produce quality histories. Using same
approach of when making a disc was the beginning of a professional project,
and not something made for anybody. We deserve true histories and valuable
people.

 

Personally I do not have any problem in such approach, based on amusing
oneselves just playing during the weekend. For someone the music represent
snothing else but a noble hobby. Others are probably assigned to write some
important line in the wonderful and infinite sonorous book. Incipit was born
right for this reason!

 

The selections for the 2007 have already started and edited by Alkemist
Fanatix Europe, partner of the project.
